I bought these to replace the LM317s I have used in some applications, including my bench power supply. Having CAREFULLY verified my wiring after the first chip was destroyed at power-up, I tried a second. It, too, was instantly destroyed at power-up! The input voltage is 22v DC. Chip should handle up to 35V. When I connected a 3rd regulator, I used an external, adjustable supply to slowly bring the input voltage up to 18v. It worked normally, as I was able to adjust it and put a load on it. When I disconnected the external supply, and applied power to the internal supply again, the 3rd chip was instantly destroyed. In frustration, I put the LM317 back into the unit, and it works normally! This suggests a flaw with these LM350 parts. | ||
